Assessment

Regular assessments help teachers give students the individual support they need to be the best they can be.

As a parent of a child at Harris Academy Orpington, you will receive regular reports on your son's or daughter's progress. We'll send you a report each term showing your child's target grade and a most likely grade for each subject. We'll also send you termly reports covering their effort, attitude to learning, homework performance and contribution in lessons. A full written report will be also sent to you once a year.

Students complete assessments in English, Maths and Science every half term. In all other subjects they will be assessed each term. These assessments will be marked and given a percentage score which will be converted into a ‘most likely grade’ at GCSE.

Our Assessment and Reporting policy, to be used in conjunction with our Teaching and Learning policy, can be downloaded from our Teaching and Learning page.
