Sixth Form Dress Code

You must be smartly dressed at all times, as you would be if working in a smart professional environment. You are role models for the rest of Harris Federation so should be smartly presented at all times. 


Sixth Form Dress Code

  • Formal business clothing(skirts must be knee-length and of appropriate material – no stretchy lycra material allowed)
  • Formal shoes
  • Formal blazers
  • Religious dress such as Hijabs or other headwear worn for religious purposes is permitted

Outside wear must not be worn inside the classroom setting

Prohibited clothing items:

  • Casual clothing (informal shirts, dresses, vest style tops trousers, skirts and tracksuits, denim – no transparent or sheer material)
  • Informal shoes (trainers, canvas shoes, vans or leisure shoes – no coloured laces)
  • Overly conspicuous jewellery (large earrings, necklaces or bracelets)
  • Informal accessories (gloves, hats, caps or bandannas)
  • Sports wear

Physical education, performing arts and drama students are expected to conform to the expectations of their kit.

Tattoos must not be visible

Students will be sent home to change if they fail to conform to the dress code. Parents/carers will be contacted if a student is required to be sent home. Parents/Carers will be contacted on the first occasion a student is required to be sent home for a dress code violation. In the event of any subsequent digression from the dress code, the student will be issued with a sanction  and sent home to change, but no contact will be made with the Parent/Carer.
